Cycle Horseshoe Bend Wind (CHBW)

Profile: 9 MW (6 - GE 1.5 SLE turbines) wind farm located in Great Falls, Montana built in 2006 and acquired by CYCLE in mid 2017 interconnected to the Northwestern Energy grid and selling its power to both Idaho Power Co and Northwestern Energy

Problem: A mature wind farm with aging technology and equipment in need of refurbishment

Solution: Repower planned to increase viability within Montana’s renewable energy landscape, reduce operations and maintenance costs, extend its longevity, and modestly increase CHBW’s current energy production.

Results: Repower being implemented by GE to be complete 2021
